I’ve been really fortunate in the past 10 years to work on a good number of inventive and absorbing projects, some of them dreamt up by me, and others where I’ve helped develop ideas or collaborate with other people.
Several of them have been new media projects, most famously The Ark and Church of Fools. But all of them are about how you make the Christian faith visible and creative in our culture, which since 9/11 is essentially antagonistic to organised religion.
I’m committed to a counterintuitive approach, going for ideas which seem at first blush to be anti-religion, but which aim to prod the audience into reaction, interest, response and maybe even some sort of engagement. I think this is one of the best communication bets for religion today.
